Jawan Movie Review
A battered SRK, resembling a mummy, dismantles his adversaries one by one. Yet, his eyes hold the emptiness of an actor resurrected after a long coma, driven solely by a hefty paycheck. A child, caught amid the chaos, vows, “I’ll find out who you are when I grow up!” This scene sets the stage for a classic Atlee brand of melodrama.
Thirty years later, we meet Vikram Rathore, a cop turned vigilante, channeling his inner Robin Hood. He tackles issues the government neglects, becoming a beacon of hope for the common people. But a question lingers: is Vikram the same SRK from the beginning, or are they entirely different individuals? If the latter is true, then who are they? This mystery forms the crux of the story.
One defining characteristic of Atlee’s films is their broad appeal. He consistently crafts movies that resonate with a large segment of the Indian moviegoing audience. This strategy proved successful with Gadar 2, a film targeted at the vast majority of theatergoers (over 70%). Atlee has built a career on this audience-centric approach
Jawan avoids lulls by strategically placing high-octane action sequences that will have you cheering. Shah Rukh Khan clearly relishes his multifaceted role, bringing a vibrant energy to the screen. However, his Hindi dubbing occasionally feels a touch over-the-top, with the vocal delivery outpacing the on-screen action. This might evoke comparisons to films like Aparichit and Gabbar Is Back, but Jawan surpasses them in its commitment to the classic masala movie formula.

Jawan Movie Review: Script Analysis
Atlee’s films are known for packing a lot in—they’re like multiple movies in one! Story and screenplay might take a backseat to his focus on larger-than-life heroism, which is sure to please fans. While the cinematography by G.K. Vishnu shines in action sequences, especially the hand-to-hand combat scenes, slow motion takes a less prominent role.

Jawan Movie Review: Star Performance
Shah Rukh Khan shines in Jawan, delivering one of his best performances in a commercial film. He even tackles playing multiple characters, something he did well in Raees and Pathaan. While three of his characters stand out, the others contribute to a slightly cluttered story.
Jawan boasts a strong cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Nayanthara takes on a significant role opposite him, but the character could have been fleshed out more to truly impact the story. Despite that, she’s stunning on screen. Vijay Sethupathi, a talented actor, is unfortunately underutilized by the script. The supporting cast, including Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover, doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Deepika Padukone makes a special appearance, looking glamorous in a 90s-inspired saree

Jawan Movie Review: Direction, Music
Atlee understands what Indian audiences love in a movie, and Jawan delivers that experience with an extra dose of action and excitement. While there might not be many songs to break up the pace, the background score by Anirudh Ravichander is fantastic, creating an immersive experience with orchestral music.
