The new video featured Sunny Deol’s voiceover, saying, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai” (27 years ago, a soldier made a promise to return. To fulfill that promise and salute the soil of India, he is coming back).

Touted as India’s biggest war film, the announcement video concluded with the iconic musical notes of Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam’s track “Sandese Aate Hain” from the first film. In the caption, Sunny Deol shared more details about the film, revealing that it will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. Previously, Sunny disclosed on The Ranveer Show that he was slated to begin filming Border 2 in 2015. However, the project was shelved due to his preceding release underperforming at the box office, causing apprehension among the producers.
Sunny’s latest appearance was in Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma. The film served as a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster, where Sunny portrayed Tara Singh, a truck driver, and Ameesha Patel starred as Sakina. Gadar 2 achieved blockbuster status, surpassing ₹450 crore in collections at the Indian box office.
