Congress Questions Non-Biological PM’s Claims on Doda Encounter

Following the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government, questioning the credibility of the “non-biological PM.” Ramesh emphasized that the government’s assurances regarding security need to be scrutinized, especially in light of the ongoing violence. He pointed out that there have been 11 terrorist attacks in Jammu alone over the past 78 days, highlighting a troubling trend that raises concerns about safety in the region. This series of incidents calls into question the effectiveness of the current administration’s approach to counter-terrorism and public safety. Ramesh’s remarks underscore the opposition’s demand for accountability and a reevaluation of the government’s claims regarding national security.

“This is a significant new development. We must rise above party politics and provide a strong collective response. However, it’s also important to question the validity of the grand claims made by the self-proclaimed ‘non-biological Prime Minister’ and the so-called ‘Chanakya,'” stated Ramesh in a post on X (formerly Twitter). His remarks came in the wake of a recent terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. Ramesh emphasized the need for accountability from the government while urging unity in addressing the ongoing security challenges in the region. The incident underscores the urgency of reassessing the effectiveness of the current administration’s approach to national security amidst rising violence and instability.

The Congress leader’s comments followed the tragic loss of four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday. In response to this incident, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the Modi government for behaving as if everything was “business as usual” in the region. Kharge expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence and the rising number of attacks, urging the government to take a more proactive approach to security. He emphasized the need for a serious reevaluation of the current strategy in Jammu and Kashmir to address the escalating threats faced by security forces. The loss of these soldiers highlights the urgent need for accountability and effective action to protect the lives of those serving in the region.

“I am deeply saddened by the martyrdom of four brave Army soldiers, including an officer, in a terrorist encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of these heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to Bharat Mata. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured, and we wish them a swift and complete recovery. There are no words strong enough to condemn the cowardly acts of violence carried out by terrorists. It is essential that we stand united against these acts and reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding our nation and its brave soldiers. The sacrifice of these soldiers must not be in vain, and we must collectively address the growing threat of terrorism to ensure the safety and security of our citizens.”

Kharge emphasized that the recent surge in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir over the past 36 days necessitates a careful reassessment of the security strategy in the region. The ongoing violence underscores the urgent need for a more effective response to safeguard both civilians and security personnel.

The terrorist group known as Kashmir Tigers, a shadow faction of the Pakistan-backed organization Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), has claimed responsibility for the encounter in Doda that resulted in the deaths of four Indian Army soldiers. This group has emerged as a significant threat, highlighting the persistent challenges faced by security forces in combating terrorism in the area.

Notably, the Kashmir Tigers were also responsible for the attack on an Indian Army convoy in Kathua on July 9, further illustrating their aggressive tactics and operational capabilities. The repeated attacks by this group raise serious concerns about the stability and security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting calls for a comprehensive strategy to address these ongoing threats effectively.
