Indian 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Kamal Haasan-Starrer Experiences Decline
Despite receiving largely negative reviews, Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2” had a decent opening at the box office. However, the film has seen a decline in its collections since the opening and failed to capitalize on its first weekend. According to Sacnilk, it earned Rs 15.1 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 58.9 crore.
The breakdown of the collections is as follows: Rs 41.2 crore from the Tamil version, Rs 13.9 crore from the Telugu version, and Rs 3.8 crore from the Hindi version. While the Hindi version has remained steady, the Tamil version has experienced a continuous drop in collections since its release. The film began its box office journey with a strong opening, raking in Rs 25.6 crore. However, it saw a 28.91% decrease in collections on Saturday, earning Rs 18.2 crore, and a 17.03% decrease on Sunday.
“Indian 2” is the sequel to the 1996 film “Indian,” directed by Shankar. Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy. The film clashed at the box office with Sudha Kongara’s “Sarfira,” a remake of her National Award-winning Tamil film “Soorarai Pottru,” featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Despite positive reviews, “Sarfira” has had a tougher time at the box office. It opened with only Rs 2.5 crore but has seen an increase in collections, earning Rs 11.85 crore within three days of its release.
Kamal Haasan’s “Kalki 2898 AD” Slows Down After Dominating the First Week
Kamal Haasan’s “Kalki 2898 AD,” which dominated the box office during its first week, is now showing signs of slowing down. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 16.25 crore on Sunday. This brings its total domestic collection to an impressive Rs 579.97 crore.
“Kalki 2898 AD” had a phenomenal start, captivating audiences with its futuristic storyline and Haasan’s powerful performance. The film’s strong opening week set high expectations, with record-breaking collections that showcased its mass appeal. However, as it entered its second week, the box office momentum began to taper off.

The film’s initial success can be attributed to its unique concept, high production values, and the star power of Kamal Haasan. Despite the slowdown, “Kalki 2898 AD” continues to draw significant numbers, indicating a strong base of dedicated fans and positive word-of-mouth.
With the total domestic collection nearing the Rs 580 crore mark, “Kalki 2898 AD” remains one of the top-grossing films of the year. As it continues its run in theaters, industry analysts are keenly watching its performance to see if it can sustain its impressive earnings in the coming weeks.
