The countdown is on! With just three days left until the release of the much-awaited trailer for the sci-fi extravaganza ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ the producers are going all out to amp up the anticipation. Today, they unveiled a brand new poster on social media, showcasing the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in his enigmatic Ashwatthama avatar.
The actor, exuding a captivating and combative aura, wields his Astra and proudly displays a divine gem on his forehead. Amidst the chaos of a battlefield, he stands tall, surrounded by fallen soldiers and a life-size vehicle looming behind him. The anticipation builds as the caption teases, “His wait is ending… Just 3 days left for the #Kalki2898AD trailer, releasing on June 10th.”
Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ashwatthama, was revealed in a grand projection at Nemawar, Narmada Ghat, in Madhya Pradesh. The choice of Nemawar and Narmada Ghat was particularly meaningful, as it is believed that Ashwatthama still roams the grounds of Narmada. This event has heightened fans’ excitement for the film and Bachchan’s portrayal of the legendary figure.
Featuring an ensemble cast of stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. This multilingual, mythology-inspired sci-fi spectacle set in the future is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2024.
According to reports, a grand trailer launch event for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will take place in Mumbai on June 9, with most of the star cast and crew in attendance. The trailer is expected to premiere during this event. Additionally, the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ are planning to organize three promotional events. Following the trailer launch in Mumbai, events are being considered in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.
The promotional activities for the film include the makers gifting merchandise modeled after Prabhas’ Bhairava character and Bujji to the children of stars. Kannada star Yash reportedly received some of this merchandise for his kids. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to generate interest in the movie, with many online fans even declaring that the film could be India’s answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Set centuries into the future in a dystopian world, Kalki 2898 AD combines science fiction elements with a touch of mythology.
