Bhajan Lal Sharma was born in Attari village, Nadbai, Bharatpur to Kishan Swarup Sharma and Gomti Devi.
According to the educational qualifications mentioned in his election affidavit, he has an M.A. in Political Science from Rajasthan University.
Bhajan Lal is currently married and has two sons. His elder son Abhishek Sharma is studying and has a private job. His younger son Kunal Sharma has studied MBBS and is a doctor.
He began his political career during his school days through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
He later became the district co-convener and co-district chief there. He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and became the sarpanch of his native village at the age of 27 .
He is serving as the General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan for the fourth consecutive time.
Following the 2023 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, he was elected as an MLA from the Sanganer Assembly constituency.
On 12 December 2023, he was chosen as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan by the Bharatiya Janata Party .
Bhajan Lal Sharma was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan on 15 December 2023, along with two Deputy Chief Ministers, Diya Kumari and Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa.
